After years of turmoil, desperate negotiation and broken peace treaties, the bombs launched. It was the war everyone knew was going to happen, but so few acknowledged. On July 3rd, 2019, all hell broke lose. The world's rich and powerful were able to retreat into bunkers, safe from the radiation and destruction. The others, however, were not so lucky. Some towns - especially the larger ones - had built small bomb shelters, for their citizens to use. The turn out was over-whelming, and more than one became a death trap, when, due to the crowds, they were unable to close the bunker doors. Those who did not make the waiting list for bomb shelters were forced to hide in their basements, or the basements of their neighbors. The day after the destruction, the streets were filled with bodies, the cries of the injured, the screams of lost children, and the shouts of looters and criminals. Most people who left their shelters so very soon suffered radiation poisoning, and died slow, painful deaths. Within the next two weeks, however, the radiation began to desperate, and it became safe to leave one's bunker and travel. The water was still toxic, especially near large cities, and most of the plant life had died. But, the human race had not died. No. They had only entered a new, terrifying world. Acid rain, nights as bright (if not brighter than) day, extreme temperatures and radiation were among the more mundane dangers. The screams of "banshees", or "feral humans" would echo during all hours of the day; animals, escaped from farms, homes and zoos, had become feral, and without much else to eat, began preying upon humans; rogue gangs began popping up, attacking innocent survivors; slave-trading quickly became a booming business; downed power lines and gas leaks added to the "thrill". But, from the ashes, the phoenix rises, and perhaps, the end was in reality, a new beginning. Only you can decide. Home| Plot| Character Creation| Advertires| Affiliate
